Recently, Major General Asif Ghafoor has been removed and Major General Babar Iftikhar has been made the spokesman of Pakistan Army.
Ghafoor had his last day on Friday (31 January) as the spokesman of the Pakistan Army and the ISPR DG. Ghafoor has been transferred to the post of GOC of the 40th Infantry Division (Okara).
Ghafoor, during an interaction with defense reporters at the end of his term as an army spokesman, said that if Indians are happy with his transfer, then it is an honor for him.

Ghafoor did not forget to ‘warn’ India. In the context of terrorism, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that in the event of war, Pakistan will last for seven to ten days, Ghafoor said, “I would like to tell them (Indians) that the Pakistani army always surprises them. Will remain.”
He said that no power in the world can defeat a united nation. He said that India should stay away from any ‘adventurous’. Pakistan will fully respond to any imposed war. He said, “I have said before … War you will start, we will finish.”
Ghafoor threatened to conduct ’10 surgical strikes’ on India
It was Asif Ghafoor who threatened to carry out ’10 surgical strikes’ on India. Actually Ghafoor went to London with Pakistan military chief Qamar Javed Bajwa. Here, during a conversation with the media, he said, “If India dares to do surgical strikes within Pakistan, then it will have to face 10 surgical strikes in response.”
He further said, “Those who are thinking of carrying out any kind of conspiracy against us should not have any doubt in their mind about the capabilities of Pakistan.”
